There’s nothing more messy looking than leaving a website URL pasted into a Facebook status. Just delete it!
It looks amateur. It looks messy. It’s just not pretty! The mark of a sloppy or careless page manager is often times revealed in messy status updates that include long URLs.
Though, we understand, not all page managers do this out of laziness. Many simply don’t seem to know that it is possible to delete the URL after pasting it into a status update. But guess what? Just highlight the URL you just pasted, delete it, and Facebook will still display the link preview below your status update so you know exactly what the link looks like.
Compare the two Facebook status updates above. Which would you rather see in your news feed? The ugly, cluttered, and busy one? Or the one that’s had the URL deleted from the update? So, for today’s Tuesday Tip, we’ll keep it short and simple. Just delete the URL after pasting it into a status!
